Tree fuchsia is one of the few deciduous native New Zealand trees and is the largest fuchsia in the world. known for its reddish/orange coloured papery bark that peels off in strips from the trunk.
Grows best in shady damp areas.
Sow on the surface the very small sized seed in a mossy peat mix and keep moist, then transplant into larger pots when a few mm tall.
